A New Challenge for Inshore Offshore Games

GameBlender 510L / 510ML Edition

Following the “GameBlender 75M” introduced previously, this time we will introduce the details of the new “GameBlender 510L / 510ML.”

Difference from Light Jigging Models

The “SeaWalk Light-Jigging” has established a solid position as one of Yamaga Blanks’ flagship series for inshore light offshore jigging. The common feature across all models in the “SeaWalk Light-Jigging” series is the emphasis on high tip flexibility (follow-through), making it easy to produce a natural swimming action for metal jigs.

Furthermore, while possessing high versatility, it also has the power to handle unexpected large fish with ease, earning high support from many anglers since its release.

In contrast, the “SeaWalk GameBlender 510L / 510ML,” scheduled for release in 2026, will be released as models with a different action and operability.

The greatest features are the high operational response that allows you to manipulate the jig at will according to the situation, and the ability to sharply flip the jig up with light input to create effective fall actions.

“A single rod to fully enjoy both Inshore Hairtail (Saberfish) Jigging and Slow Jigging.”

We started development with this goal in mind.

✅What Blender Sought for Hairtail (Saberfish) Jigging

In recent years, Hairtail jigging has shown strong regional characteristics, with water depths, effective metal jigs, and productive actions changing moment by moment depending on the season and the day.

To respond flexibly to such situations, we believed that a regular taper with moderate stiffness (tension) through to the tip, providing highly adaptable operability, was essential.

Also, we intentionally shortened the length.

This is to realize excellent handling in Hairtail jigging, where vertical jigging from a party boat using a spanker (sea anchor) is the mainstream style.

Furthermore, we thoroughly emphasized “high response performance” to accurately detect entanglement of the line or jig during the fall, or any slight unnatural feeling, and bring it to a quick hookset.

✅What Blender Sought for Slow Jigging

Inshore Slow Jigging targets a wide variety of species, and it is a deep and technical style of fishing. Therefore, the operability of the jig is extremely important, and the rod requires “comfort to manipulate the jig easily and at will.”

To achieve this in this model, we were thoroughly particular not only about the stiffness of the rod but also the position of the bending fulcrum. It bends easily with light input and recovers with good response, allowing the jig to fly automatically, turn sideways, and fall.

We have refined and embodied this basic performance of slow jigging at a high level.

A separate type grip is adopted. This enables light input during jig operation and allows for smooth straight-pumping action when peeling good-sized Rockfish or Bluerunners away from the structure.

💡Characteristics in Hairtail Jigging

A highly versatile basic model capable of handling a wide range of depths.

Can produce natural and stable actions by suppressing the initial velocity of the jig.

Smooth transition from lifting action to fall.

Easy to perform sharp high-pitch actions to search the hit range with a good tempo.

High sensitivity to capture any unnatural feeling during the fall.

💡Characteristics in Slow Jigging

Allows the jig to glide smoothly even in weak currents.

Demonstrates excellent usability in shallow areas up to 50m deep.

Achieves high follow-through (cushioning) for targets with soft mouths (to prevent hook pulls).

Excellent response, allowing smooth switching from sharp actions to slow actions.

💡Characteristics in Hairtail Jigging

Makes it easier to conquer deep water points.

Enables jig actions with variable speeds (slow to fast) at will.

Easy to sense bites or unnatural feelings during the fall, allowing for an immediate hookset.

Strong lift power and a bending fulcrum closer to the hands reduce fatigue when catching “Dragon-class” fish in numbers, improving efficiency.

💡Characteristics in Slow Jigging

Accurate jig manipulation is possible thanks to the blank’s excellent recovery response, even in adverse conditions like double-layer currents.

Excels in conquering deep areas in the 100m to 200m range.

The rod bends flexibly during action input, reducing the burden on the elbow.

Delivers high response from sharp high-pitch jerks to feeding actions on the fall.

Utilizes butt power to lift fish securely with a stable fight after hooking.

In Closing

The GameBlender series is not just a “do-it-all rod” that seeks versatility for the sake of it. We have thoroughly refined the performance to handle various fishing styles at a high level.

On top of that, we clearly envisioned specific genre combinations like “Style A × Style B” for this series. We created rods that embody the angler’s need: “I wish I could enjoy this fishing and that fishing with just one rod.”

In the next explanatory blog, we plan to release a deeper dive into the series, including how to choose reels to match your targets and styles! Stay tuned!
