ニュージーランド在住のChris Leskovsek様よりBlueCurrentⅢ 69の釣果ご報告を頂きましたので、ご紹介致します。

Blue Current III 69: Silver Trevally – Auckland, New Zealand
Hello from Auckland, New Zealand.
For the past 2 months, we’ve had bad winter weather, so I wasn’t able to fish at night for Horse Mackerel but I wanted to make the most of the weather and found a small window.
In this case, it meant I had to go out during the day.
It was a bit more windy than I’d hoped for, but I found a sheltered wharf on the Auckland harbor.
I knew that daytime horse mackerel were hard to find, so I prepared different types of lures just in case. I was also hoping for silver trevally which are present during the winter period.
I used my BlueCurrent III 69, which is an extremely versatile light game rod that has served me very well for the past year or so. So I trust it dearly.
Time went by, and only managed to hook a couple of horse mackerel under the wharf and through different shady areas,
I decided to change the weight to a 3gr jighead and a 2in lure and explore near the bottom of the ocean.
On the first cast after switching to a heavier jighead and slowly retrieving along the bottom, I felt very soft nibbles touching my lure so I decided to strike, and I was hooked up! – Given the power and speed of the first run, I knew I was onto a Trevally!
My reel was screaming at full speed, luckily I was able to put enough pressure with the incredibly deep bend of the BCIII69. This helped me a lot to control the fish while it was running in every direction.
In the end, I managed to land a beautiful 40cm Silver Trevally, a very strong opponent which always pushes ultra light gear to its limit, however, this time, I managed to win the fight. The fish was released!.
At this stage I had forgot about the bad weather from the previous weeks!

ニュージーランドのオークランドよりレポートします。
この2か月間ほど、ここオークランドはまさに真冬の天気が続いていました。冷え込みが厳しく、特に夜はアジングするにはなかなか気合のいる気温でした。
が、しかし釣りたい気持ちは抑えられず、そんな天候・気温の中でもチャンスをうかがいたい・・・という事でまだ日中ならなんとかなるかなと思い釣行にでましたので、レポートします。

その日は期待していたよりも少し風が出ていましたが、オークランド港・波戸場の風裏に入り、そこを狙う事にしました。
これまでの経験上、陽が高い時間帯にアジを狙うのはなかなか難しいとわかっていたので、念のため様々なメソッドのルアーを用意して挑みました。
また冬の間はシルバートレバリーが狙えるので、あわよくば・・・。

ロッドはBlueCurrentⅢ 69。
ライトゲームの範疇において非常に高い汎用性能を備え、ここ数年かなり活躍してくれているので、とても信頼している1本です。
実釣開始からほどなくして、波戸場の下や明暗エリアに潜む数匹のアジを掛ける事が出来ました。

ここで3ｇのジグヘッドに変更。ワームは2インチにしてボトムを中心に探ってみることにします。
3ｇという少し重めのジグヘッドに変更してからの第一投目。
ボトムを取り、ゆっくりとリトリーブをしていると、僅かになにかがワームをついばんでいるような感触が伝わってきました。その瞬間に合わせを入れます！

掛かった！

ファーストランから感じられたターゲットの重みとパワーから、シルバートレバリーに間違いないと確信しました。
シルバートレバリーの激しい抵抗に、ドラグの音が響きます。
BlueCurrentⅢ 69はしっかりと曲がり込みながら、ラインテンションを保ち、シルバートレバリーに対して十分なプレッシャーを与えます。
この追従するブランクが、四方八方に泳ぎ回るシルバートレバリーを意図した通りにしっかりとコントロールしてくれます。

そしてついにランディング！

40ｃｍのコンディション抜群なシルバートレバリーです。
ライトゲームタックルで挑むにはなかなか手強い相手ではありますが、今回は主導権を渡さずにランディングする事ができました。
そして無事にリリース。
ここ数週間の悪天候のこともすっかり忘れてしまうほど、楽しい釣行でした。
